A Weekly Inventory Routine for Small Retail Teams
A repeatable routine for identifying stock-record problems before they become month-end surprises.
Choose one fixed day each week and review a manageable product category.
• Compare physical labels with the inventory record.
• Review repair, approval and customer-hold items separately.
• Record every difference before changing the system balance.
• Assign one person to investigate each exception.
• Close resolved exceptions with a dated note.
The purpose is not to count everything every week. It is to build a habit of finding causes early and maintaining trustworthy records.
