What Workshops Look for in a Beginner CAD Portfolio
Guidance for students preparing a small but credible portfolio for jewellery CAD apprenticeships.
A useful beginner portfolio can contain five strong projects instead of twenty unfinished renders.
For each project include the design brief, dimensions, stone details, two working views, a clean render and one note explaining what changed after feedback. Show at least one ring, one earring, one pendant and one design adapted for a production constraint.
Workshops evaluate accuracy, willingness to revise and understanding of manufacturing, not only visual effects.
