Record the supplier, parcel reference, stone count, stated weight and agreed purpose before confirming the transaction. Ask what treatment information is available, whether any report is supplier-issued or from an independent laboratory, how mixed parcels are described, and what inspection or return period applies. Photograph packaging and references at handover. Documentation supports clear communication; it does not replace qualified gemological testing when that is required.
